USAFA, Colorado - Boise State's women's basketball team held off a pesky Air Force squad to claim its second Mountain West Conference victory of the week in a 81-75 shoot-out in Colorado.  Lauren Lenhardt, Kati Isham and Heather Pilcher combined for 61 points to lead the Broncos to the victory. Trailing by one at the half, Boise State wasted little time taking the lead for good when the second period began with a 14-4 run.

The game was Boise State's seventh game of the season scoring 80 or more points as the Broncos extended their win streak to four games. Boise State opened its inaugural Mountain West season with a sweep of its first two league games to improve to 11-6 overall and 2-0 in conference. Air Force goes to 5-12 on the season and 0-2 in league.  It has been five years since the Broncos opened 2-0 in conference, not since the 2006-07 season..

The opening 20 minutes of play were tightly contested before Air Force took a one-point, 33-32, lead into halftime. Boise State opened the game fast with a 7-0 run in the first two minutes of play. However, they began to struggle after that hitting only one field goal and three free throws, all by Isham, during the next nine minutes of play.

As Boise State struggled  the Falcons responded with an 8-0 run to take the lead at the 13:48 mark of the half. The game then went back and forth as Boise State maintained a two-to-four point lead until the six minute mark when the Falcons gained some momentum.  The period ended with seven lead changes, six in the final five minutes, and two ties as Air Force took a one-point advantage into the break.

Lenhardt scored 14 of her season-high 29 points in the first half. The junior from Eagle, Idaho, finished the day going 10-of-20 from the floor, two-for-two from the arc and seven-of-eight from the free throw line. It was her second consecutive game with 20 plus points. to open conference play.

Isham followed with 19 points in the game, 14 of those were in the second period as she went four-of-six from the 3-point arc. Heather Pilcher followed Lenhardt and Isham with 13 points, three rebounds, six assists and four steals. Brady and Poteet led the Broncos on the glass with eight rebounds each.

The second half began with Boise State rolling off a 14-4 run to take a 45-37 lead with 16:47 to go in the game, powered by six Lenhardt points. The Broncos never trailed again as they extended their advantage to a game-high 14-point lead by the 13:49 mark.

Up 10, 68-58,  with just under seven minutes on the clock, Air Force fought back to make it interesting. The Falcons never managed to take the lead but they pulled within two twice, the first with 2:49 left (71-69) and the last with 19 seconds remaining (77-75).

The Broncos closed out the game with Cinnamon Lister and Heather Pilcher converting on four free throws to give Boise State the final victory margin of 81-75.

Boise State shot 51.7 percent in the second half to finish the game shooting 44.4 percent from the floor, 50 percent (9-18) from the arc and 94.1 percent (16-17) from the free throw line. Air Force countered at 44.3 percent from the hardwood, 28.6 percent (2-7) from the arc and 79.2 percent (19-24) from the charity stripe.

Dymond James led three Falcons in double-figure scoring with 24 points to go with 10 rebounds. Michelle Ivy was next with 18 points and seven rebounds, followed by Alicia Leipprandt with 16.
