Boise State Wins on the Road at Nevada
Broncos snap seven game losing streak.

RENO, Nev. - It was a solid team effort by Boise State as the Broncos snapped a seven game losing streak with an impressive 80-62 win on the road at Nevada in a Mountain West women's basketball game in the Lawlor Events Center at Reno. Four Broncos recorded double figure points led by senior Lauren Lenhardt with her eighth game with 20-plus points with 20 against the Wolf Pack. Boise State took control early rolling off a 12-0 run take a 12-2 lead four minutes into the game. Nevada never recovered as the Broncos stretched the lead to a game-high 20 points six times in the second period as they improved to 11-15 overall and 4-9 in league play.  

Lenhardt scored 14 of her 20 points in the final 20 minutes of play including a 7-2 run to open the second half to give the Broncos its first 20 point advantage at 50-30 with 18 minutes remaining. She shot eight-of-14 from the floor, two-of-three from the arc and two-for-two from the free-throw line. She also had eight rebounds, two blocks and one steal.

Brandi Henton followed close behind with 18 points going six-of-12 from the floor and six-for-seven from the free-throw line. She also had eight rebounds, team-highs for assists and blocks with six and three, respectively.  Erica Martinez added 12 points on four-of-seven shooting from the arc. Lexie Der recorded her second career double-double of the year on 14 points and team-high 11 boards.

Boise State shot a season-high for a league game tonight hitting 50 percent (32-64) from the court, season-best 53.8 percent (7-13) from beyond the 3-point line and 81.8 percent (9-11) from the charity stripe. Nevada countered at 32.8 percent (21-64) from the floor, 20 percent (3-15) from the arc and 60.7 percent (17-28) the free-throw line. The Broncos dominated the glass out rebounding the Wolf Pack 52 to 33, and out scored them in the paint 40-24.
Nevada was led by Chanelle Brennan with 15 points followed by Danika Sharp with 11 and Nyasha Lesure with 10.

Boise State dominated the first half shooting a season-best percentage from the floor of 57.6 percent (19-33). After Nevada opened the scoring in the contest, Boise State stormed into control rolling off a 12-0 run to take a 10-point lead four minutes into the game. The Broncos took a 15 point 45-30 lead into the break.

The Broncos maintained a double-digit lead for most of the final 15 minutes of the half, stretching it out to 17 points, 45-28 late in the period. After Boise State's initial run to take a 10-point advantage the Wolf Pack closed it to single digits twice, the first at 16-9 with 13:11 on the clock, and the last was eight points, 29-21, with 7:45 to go.

The second period opened with Lenhardt rolling off a 7-2 run for the Broncos to take Boise State to its first 20-point lead of the game at 50-30 with just over 18 minutes to play. Nevada made a late run closing to within 13 points, 71-58 with 4:33 to go. The Broncos regrouped and closed the game with an 18-point win.

Next up for Boise State is a trip to Colorado State Saturday afternoon.
