Lenhardt leads Broncos with sixth double-double of the year.

LAS VEGAS, Nev. - Boise State fell 75-61 on the road at UNLV Saturday afternoon in a Mountain West game in Las Vegas, Nev. The Lady Rebels took control in the second period stretching a six-point halftime advantage to as many as 19 midway through the half. Lauren Lenhardt led a Boise State rally attempt with eight points late in the game as the Broncos closed to within eight points, 67-59, with 2:33 to play, but they could get no closer.

The loss drops the Broncos to 10-10 overall and 3-4 in conference play with the league leading San Diego State Aztecs on the horizon in Boise this coming Wednesday.

Lenhardt led Boise State with her sixth double-double of the year on 21 points and 11 rebounds, both team highs. The senior recorded her fifth game with 20-plus points going nine-of-17 from the floor and three-for-three from the free-throw line. She also recorded three blocks and one steal in 30 minutes of action.

Brandi Henton followed with 16 points, four boards, three assists and two steals. Erica Martinez added three 3-pointers to finish the game with nine points.

Boise State finished the contest shooting 31.9 percent (23-72) from the floor, 19.4 percent (6-31) from beyond the arc and 56.3 percent (9-16) from the free-throw line. UNLV shot 36.2 percent (21-58) from the floor, 27.3 percent (3-11) from the arc and made a living at the free-throw line hitting 30-of-44 (68.2) attempts.

The Lady Rebels also out rebounded the Broncos 56 to 41 on the day and 17 to 14 on offensive boards, but the Broncos matched them in second chance points with 13 apiece and had 14 more field goal attempts than their host.

Kelli Thompson led UNLV with 33 points and 10 rebounds, followed by Danielle Miller with 14 points.

The first half was one of runs as the two teams went back and forth. The period ended with one tie and four lead changes with the Broncos largest advantage being six points, 8-2, while UNLV's was nine, 36-27, towards the end of the half.

After Boise State had rallied from six down, 20-14, with 7:39 left to take a 23-20 advantage with 6:20 on the clock, the Lady Rebels responded with a 16-5 run to close the period up 36-28.

The second half opened with the Lady Rebels taking control early as they stretched their six point halftime advantage to 19 at 58-39 with 8:43 remaining in the game. Boise State attempted to rally pulling to within eight points with 2:33 on the clock, but ran out of time down the stretch.
