Broncos to Close 2016 at Midlands

BOISE, Idaho – The Boise State wrestling team will close out 2016 with an appearance at the 54th Annual Ken Kraft Midlands Championships, held on the campus of Northwestern in Evanston, Ill.

The two-day tournament will begin Thursday at 8:30 a.m. (MT) with the first session at Welsh-Ryan Arena. The opening day will conclude with the second session at 6 p.m. Friday’s action will begin at 11 a.m. while the finals for the first-, third- and fifth-place matches will begin at 6 p.m.

The Big Ten Network will provide a live stream online at and the finals will televised on the Big Ten Network. Live results can be found at TrackWrestling.

Thirty-nine schools will compete alongside the Broncos, including Pac-12 foes Arizona State and Oregon State. The field will also feature sixteen ranked teams.

J.T. Felix was the last Boise State wrestler to place at The Midlands, taking third in 2013 (285). Felix’s third-place finish is tied with Charles Burton (165 pounds, 1995) and Nels Nelson (150, 1991) for the highest finish by a Bronco.
