Bronco Wrestlers Open Home Slate Saturday

BOISE, Idaho – The Boise State wrestling team will open its home slate of dual meets this Saturday, Dec. 10 at Bronco Gym against Utah Valley at 7 p.m.

The Broncos are seeking their first dual win of the season after falling to Purdue, Nov. 18, in a dual that came down to the final match.

Utah Valley is 1-1 on the season in duals, with a win against Nebraska-Kearney and a loss to No. 23 Northern Iowa.

TICKETS

Saturday’s dual is Boise State’s Military Appreciation Dual. All veterans and active service members with a valid ID will receive free admission to the dual, and $3 walk-up tickets will also be offered as part of the 12 Days of Christmas promotion.

Boise State lost last year’s bout against the Wolverines in Orem, Utah, 22-12.

The teams have traded wins the previous eight seasons, with the home team standing victorious, dating back to Boise State’s 34-10 win over Utah Valley in Boise during the 2008-09 season. The last time an away team won the dual was Nov. 20, 2004 when the Broncos defeated the Wolverines in Orem, 30-12, in a quad dual with Adams State and Iowa State.
