BOISE, Idaho Led by pins from Matt Casperson and Alan Bartelli, the Boise State University wrestling team dominated the University of Wyoming Cowboys on Saturday (Dec. 8) with a 38-3 win in its first dual match of the season.

                A sophomore from St. George, Utah, Casperson recorded a fall over Kyle Morrow at the 3:51 mark of the 184-pound match.  Bartelli, a frshman from Wasilla, Alaska, pined Cody Grant at the 4:02 mark of his match at 125 pounds.

                Starting the dual at the 141-pound weight class, Levi Jones began the Bronco victory by posting a 10-4 win over Cole Dallaserra. 

                Jones’ win was followed by victories from Boise State’s two nationally ranked wrestlers.  Adam Hall, ranked 18th in this week’s USA Today/Intermat at 149 pounds, posted a 14-5 major decision over Cody Chipperfield, before 11th ranked Tyler Sherfey recorded a technical fall over Clay Sondgeroth, 16-1.

                Boise State’s other wins came from Cory Fish at 133 pounds, Kurt Swartz at 165, Ryan Allen at 197 and Nick Smith in the heavyweight class. 

                Wyoming’s only individual victory came in the 174 pound weight class when Eric Coxbill recorded a 6-2 decision over Boise State’s Tyler Roshau.

                The Broncos now take a break from competition for finals and Christmas before returning to action on Dec. 29 and 30 (Saturday and Sunday) at the Southern Scuffle in Greensboro, N.C.
