Broncos 0-2 at NWCA All-Star Classic
FRESNO, Calif. - The Boise State wrestling team concluded a busy weekend on the road, Sunday (Nov. 21), with Andrew Hochstrasser and Adam Hall representing the Broncos at the 45th annual NWCA All-Star Classic presented by The Marines in Fresno, Calif.

Hochstrasser and Hall joined an elite group of Boise State wrestlers as just the sixth and seventh Broncos ever to compete at The Classic; and the first since 2002. The historic day for the Boise State duo would end in bittersweet fashion however, as Hochstrasser and Hall both dropped their matches to finish 0-2 at the prestigious fundraising event.

Hochstrasser, who entered the event ranked No. 1 nationally at 133 pounds by, was selected to compete in the event against No. 2 Jordan Oliver of Oklahoma State. Hochstrasser fell behind early as Oliver scored three take downs and a reversal for an 8-4 lead after two periods. Hochstrasser scored an escape in the third before recording his first take down of the match to narrow the score to 8-7, but with just 00:05 remaining it was too little too late.

Hall suffered a similar fate after heading to The Classic with the top ranking in the country at 157 pounds. His match-up, No. 4 Bubba Jenkins Arizona State, proved to be to much on this day. Jenkins scored the first take down of the match just 00:23 into the first period and never looked back. He used a 6-1 first period lead to put Hall in a insurmountable hole. Take downs in both the second and third periods would solidify a 12-4 major decision victory for Jenkins.

The losses will not count on either Hochstrasser or Hall's official records as the matches were exhibitions. Boise State originally was expected to also be represented by senior Kirk Smith, who recently withdrew from his invitation due to injury.

The Broncos drop to 2-5 all-time at the All-Star Classic.

Boise State is off the mat now for a couple weeks until the Broncos head to the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invite in Las Vegas, Nev., Dec. 3-4.
