BOISE, Idaho Boise State University opens its 2006-07 wrestling season this Saturday (Nov. 11) at the annual Cowboy Open on the University of Wyoming campus in Laramie

The lineup for the Broncos at this one-day tournament includes Cory Fish in the 125 pound weight class, Levi Jones at 133, Jeff Newby at 141, Jonathan Nunez and Luke Smith at 165, Nate Lee at 174, Mike Casperson at 184, Ryan Allen and Matt Casperson at 197 and Andy Patrick in the heavyweight division.

Fish and Nunez placed fifth and fourth in their respective weight classes at the Pac-10 Tournament last year, just missing advancement to the NCAA Tournament.

Boise State is under the direction of fifth year head coach Greg Randall.  In his four previous seasons as the head coach for the Broncos, Randall led the team to the 2004 Pac-10 Conference Championship and runner-up finishes in 2003 and 2005.  Last year’s team placed third.

Randall will once again be assisted by assistant coaches Chris Owens and Kirk White

Following the Cowboy Open, Boise State will participate in the Best of the West Tournament in Medford, Oregon on Nov. 18 (Saturday) and the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational on Dec. 1 and 2 (Friday and Saturday) before hosting its first home match of the season on Dec. 14 (Thursday) against Pac-10 opponent Cal-State Bakersfield.
