Wrestling Schedule Announced

BOISE, Idaho - Boise State wrestling head coach Greg Randall released the team's 2013-14 schedule Wednesday, including five home matches.

The Broncos will open the season at the Cowboy Open in Laramie, Wyo. (Nov. 2), hosted by Wyoming. The Cowboys will then come to Boise to open the Broncos' home slate, squaring off Nov. 15 (Friday) at 7 p.m.

Boise State will square off against Oregon State in Corvallis, Ore., Nov. 24 (Noon MT), in the first of two Pac-12 matches against the Beavers in 2013-14. Oregon State will make its return trip to Boise in the final home match of the season, scheduled for 7 p.m., Feb. 7 (Friday).

Also making trips to Boise in 2013-14 will be North Dakota State (Friday, Jan. 17; 7 p.m.), Lehigh (Sunday, Jan. 26; 1 p.m.) and Northern Colorado (Friday, Jan. 31; 7 p.m.). The team's annual Beauty and the Beast match - an event held simultaneously with the Bronco gymnastics team - will be held against the Bison.

Following the Broncos' Pac-12 opener against the Beavers, Boise State will close 2013 with the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational (Dec. 6-7) and the Reno Tournament of Champions (Dec. 22).

Following the semester break, the Broncos will embark on a three-match Pac-12 road swing, squaring off against Stanford (Jan. 9; 8 p.m. MT) and CSU Bakersfield (Jan. 10; 8 p.m. MT) on back-to-back days, before heading to San Luis Obispo, Calif., two days later to face Cal Poly (Jan. 12; 2 p.m. MT).

The Broncos will also trip to Tempe, Ariz., to face conference foe Arizona State, Jan. 24 (8 p.m. MT), and to Orem, Utah, to square off against Utah Valley, Feb. 1 (7 p.m.).

The Pac-12 Championships will be held March 2 in Palo Alto, Calif., and the NCAA Championships are scheduled for March 20-22 in Oklahoma City, Okla.

The Broncos return three wrestlers that competed at the NCAA Championships last year, including redshirt senior Jake Swartz, the two-time defending Pac-12 champion at 184 pounds, senior J.T. Felix and sixth-year senior Brian Owen. Both Felix (285) and Owen (133) finished runner-up at last year's Pac-12 Championships.

Redshirt sophomore Travis Himmelman (141), junior Holden Packard (165) and senior Cody Dixon (197) each finished third at the conference championships last year, and return for the Broncos' 2013-14 campaign.
