ANKARA, Turkey – Boise State wrestler Jason Chamberlain made an early exit from the 2009 FILA Junior World Championships in Ankara, Turkey this past weekend (Aug. 4-9), losing his first match of the freestyle tournament against Tomotugu Ishida of Japan, 1-0, 1-0.

Chamberlain earned the right to represent the United States at 66 kg (145.5 pounds) after winning the FILA Junior Team Trials in Colorado Springs, Colo. on May 23. His run at the world championships wouldn’t last long, however, as Chamberlain failed to score against Ishida, who finished the tournament in fifth-place.

Chamberlain enters his sophomore season at Boise State after a successful freshman campaign with the Broncos. He compiled a 22-9 overall record in 2008-09 (10-6 dual, 12-3 tournament) en route to a Pacific-10 Conference championship and a NCAA tournament berth.
