Four Broncos Named Pac-12 Wrestling All-Academic

April 17, 2014

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Four members of the Boise State wrestling team were named Pac-12 All-Academic, the league office announced Thursday.

Included were seniors J.T. Felix and Jake Swartz, who were named to the 10-member first team.

Sophomore Rami Haddadin and junior Holden Packard were each named second-team Pac-12 All-Academic.

Swartz, the 2014 Pac-12 Wrestler of the Year and a three-time league champion at 184 pounds, is a four-time league all-academic honoree, having been named to the second team as a redshirt freshman in 2011, and to the first team from 2012-14.

Felix, who captured the 2014 Pac-12 heavyweight title, has been named to the league's all-academic team three times, earning first-team honors in 2012 and 2014, and second-team accolades in 2013.

Packard has earned second-team all-academic honors in each of the last two seasons.

The Broncos' four all-academic selections in 2014 are tied for the second-most in the last 24 years, trailing only the five selections in 2011. The total was also tied for the second-most amongst the first and second teams in the Pac-12 in 2014, trailing only the six by Stanford.
