Broncos Land Four On Academic First Team

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - The Boise State wrestling team landed a conference-high four student-athletes on the 2012 Pac-12 Wrestling All-Academic First Team, Commissioner Larry Scott announced Friday.

The announcement marks the second-consecutive year redshirt juniors Josh Strait (141) and Michael Cuthbertson (165) have been named to All-Academic First Team. Both Strait and Cuthbertson  are majoring in health science with 3.78 and 3.60 grade-point averages, respectively.

Jake Swartz (184) was named to the All-Academic First Team for the first time in his career after being named to the second team following his freshman campaign last season. The Auburn, Wash., native is majoring in accounting and holds a 3.43 GPA.

J.T. Felix notched the first academic honor of his career, garnering a 3.29 while pursuing a degree in pre-medical studies.

To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall GPA and be a significant contributor.
