Pac-12 Announces All-Academic Teams
March 28, 2017

SAN FRANCISCO – Boise State wrestlers Kadyn Del Toro and Dakota Wall were each named first-team Pac-12 All-Academic, the league office announced Tuesday. Additionally, Carson Kuhn garnered second-team honors and Harley DiLulo, Josh Newberg and Demetrius Romero received honorable mention.

To be eligible for selection to the all-academic teams, student-athletes must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade-point average and appear in at least 50 percent of the team’s scheduled competitions. An injury, as was the case for Kuhn, does not count against the 50 percent criteria.

“I’m thrilled to see our guys getting recognized for the work they’re putting in away from the mat,” head coach Mike Mendoza said. “We’re trying to win conference championships and get guys to the NCAA Tournament, but we’re also preparing young men to graduate and excel when they leave this program.”

A redshirt sophomore from Tacoma, Wash., Del Toro boasts a 3.9 GPA while majoring in entrepreneurship management. Wall, a redshirt freshman biology major from Boise (Centennial HS), has a GPA of 3.7.

Kuhn is a redshirt junior from Sandy, Utah, and has maintained a GPA of 3.53 while majoring in public health. He was also a second-team honoree in 2014-15.

Boise State has placed at least three individuals on the Pac-12 All-Academic Teams in each of the last eight seasons, though the two first-team honorees mark the first time Bronco teammates have accomplished the feat since J.T. Felix and Jake Swartz in 2013-14.

This past fall the wrestling team combined for a single-semester GPA of 3.12, establishing a program record.
