BOISE, Idaho –
Austin Dewey will represent the Boise State wrestling team at the 2017 NCAA Championships, March 16-18 (Thursday-Saturday) at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Mo.

The redshirt senior and Boise native will be making his first appearance at the national tournament after a runner-up finish at the Pac-12 Tournament gave him one of the conference’s two automatic allocations at 174 pounds.

Unseeded, Dewey will face No. 11 seed Alex Meyer of Iowa in the first round.

In the midst of a career best season in his final year with the Blue and Orange, Dewey enters the national tournament with a 24-13 record. He set a career high for pins in a season with seven. Dewey is seeking to finish in the top eight at his weight class in order to become the 32nd All-American in program history.
