The Broncos are led by freshman Geordan Martinez at 141 pounds. Ranked No. 6 this week by Intermat, Martinez has an overall record of 25-5 and is undefeated in dual matches this year at 10-0. He is expected to receive the No. 1 seed for Sunday’s league championships. The seeds will be announced Saturday (Feb. 28) afternoon.

Also expected to receive a high seed for the Broncos is Steven Hernandez at 157 pounds. The senior is 20-6 and 8-2 in dual matches this season. Hernandez finished third in the same weight class at last year’s Pac-12 Championships.

Martinez and Hernandez have both received Gold qualifying status for this year’s NCAA National Championships. The status means if Martinez finishes second or higher at the Pac-12 Tournament, and Hernandez finished third or higher, they will automatically qualify for nationals which are March 19-21 (Thursday-Saturday) in St. Louis, Mo.

The Pac-12 received a total of 19 automatic qualifying spots to the NCAA Championships with each of the 10 weight classes receiving a different number of berths. The 141-pound class received two while 157 received three, thus the difference where Martinez and Hernandez need to finish and qualify for nationals.

Following is the Bronco lineup for the Pac-12 Championships:

Weight Class Name (Year – Hometown) 2014-15 Record
125 Carson Kuhn (RS-FR – Sandy, Utah) 6-4
