BAKERSFIELD, Calif. Session three of the Pacific-10 Wrestling Championships concluded Sunday afternoon with the Boise State University wrestling team sending Tyler Sherfey and Nate Lee to the third place matches.
Sherfey defeated Daniel Alejandro of California State University, Bakersfield, 7-2, to advance. Sherfey will now match up against Cal Poly’s Chase Pami with a berth in the NCAA Championships on the line. Pami defeated Sherfey in the Boise State-Cal Poly dual meet.
Lee defeated Oregon’s Ron Lee by decision to advance to the third place match where he will face Luke Feist of Stanford for a spot in the NCAA Championships. Lee beat Feist in the final dual match of the season at Boise, Idaho.
Cory Fish matched up against Brandon Zoetewey of CSU Bakersfield in the fifth/sixth place match but was ousted 11-2.
Johnny Nunez also lost the fifth place match falling to Daniel Atondo by decision.
The final session will begin at 6:00 p.m. with the third place and championship matches to conclude the Pac-10 Wrestling Championships.
