BOISE, Idaho -- The Boise State wrestling team will close its regular season Sunday (Feb. 21), squaring off against Oregon State at noon (MT) at Gill Coliseum in Corvallis, Ore., in this year's edition of the Border War. The Broncos' final tune-up before the Pac-12 Championships (Feb. 27) will be televised live on Pac-12 Oregon. Live results will also be available via TrackWrestling. The Broncos will be looking to reclaim the Border Axe, a wooden trophy created by a former Boise State wrestler in 2009, for the first time since defeating the Beavers 19-18, Nov. 24, 2013. Since its inception, the Border Axe has changed hands just three times. Boise State (3-8, 1-3 Pac-12) has lost six-consecutive duals, the team's last win coming Jan. 15, over North Dakota State (19-18). The Broncos' last win over a Pac-12 opponent came against Arizona State, Nov. 22, on criteria (22-21). Oregon State (10-6, 2-2 Pac-12) is ranked 21st this week in the InterMat Dual Meet Rankings, and boasts a pair of ranked individuals. Sophomore Ronnie Bresser is seventh nationally at 125 pounds, while heavyweight Amarveer Dhesi is 10th. The Beavers have won five of their last six duals, the only loss coming to CSU Bakersfield on criteria (21-20).
