            BOISE, Idaho The Boise State wrestlers (14-3, 5-0) maintained their perfect Pac-10 Conference record, Saturday night, with a 38-3 win against the University of California Davis (7-6, 3-4) in Bronco Gymnasium. The No. 11 ranked Broncos (USA Today/InterMat/NWCA) won nine consecutive matches en route to winning the dual and keeping their record a perfect 6-0 at home this season.

            The Broncos continued their home dominance, Saturday, losing just the second match in their past three home duals. Boise State has lost just 10 matches in six home duals all season.

            On Saturday, No. 4 nationally ranked sophomore Andrew Hochstrasser (28-2, 16-1 dual) got things started for the Broncos, winning an 11-1 major decision against Brandon Low in the 133-pound match. Hochstrasser used a seven point third period to blow the match wide open.

            Boise State senior Cory Fish (14-7, 5-6) earned the second Bronco win of the night at 141-pounds when he beat Bryan Osuna, 12-6. No. 17 ranked freshman Jason Chamberlain (15-6, 8-5) recorded Boise State’s first win by fall of the night just one match later. At the 2:23 mark Chamberlain pinned Barrett Abel, giving Boise State a 13-0 lead.

            At 157-pounds, No. 6 Adam Hall scored the second major decision victory of the night for Boise State. Hall used a seven point third period to score the 13-5 major decision against Joey Wilson. Boise State senior, No. 18 ranked, Tyler Sherfey (20-8, 12-4) helped extend the Bronco lead even further, 20-0, with an 8-3 decision over Dustin Noack at 165-pounds.

            In the 174-pound match, No. 13 ranked Nate Lee (12-3, 10-1) earned a win against Tyler Bernacchi by medical default. Bernacchi was injured in the third period and unable to finish the match. That win was followed by Boise State’s second pin of the night. Sophomore Kirk Smith (29-1, 16-1), who is currently ranked No. 4 in the nation, pinned Jon Clark in the second period (5:52) to earn his fourth fall of the season.

            No. 5 ranked sophomore Brent Chriswell (7-1, 7-1) earned the most dramatic win of the night at 197-pounds. With just 00:13 left in regulation, Chriswell scored a two point take down to defeat Abe Otrambo, 6-4. His win was followed by Boise State’s final victory of the night in the heavyweight match. Bronco Sam Zylstra (9-12, 4-8) earned a 6-2 decision over Ricky Alcala, giving Boise State a 38-0 lead.

            Boise State’s only loss of the night came in the final match at 125-pounds. Bronco sophomore Alan Bartelli (14-13, 4-5) fought hard, but failed to pull an upset against No. 18 ranked Marcos Orozco, 0-3.

            The Broncos host their final home dual of the season, Sunday (Feb. 8), when Pac-10 foe Stanford travels to Boise. The dual is scheduled for 2 p.m. and will be held in Bronco Gymnasium.
