Wrestlers Host UNC, Travel to UVU

THIS WEEK'S BREAKDOWN:The Boise State wrestling team has a pair of duals with schools from the Western Wrestling Conference on tap this week - one at home, and one on the road.

First up is a home dual at Taco Bell Arena against Northern Colorado, Friday (Jan. 31). The Broncos (2-6, 2-3 Pac-12) and Bears (5-7) are slated to hit the mat at 7 p.m.

Boise State will turn around and head to Orem, Utah, the following day, squaring off against Utah Valley (3-6) at the PE Building, Saturday (Feb. 1). The dual is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.

TICKETS:General admission tickets are $6 for adults and $4 for juniors (2-18) and seniors (62+), but at Friday's dual, fans can get in free with their ticket from the Broncos' men's basketball game against Air Force (Jan. 29). Additionally, Boise State alumni get in for $3 with their alumni cards.

As always, students gain free entrance with a valid Boise State Student Identification Card.

Tickets can be purchased at Taco Bell Arena the day of the match.

NORTHERN COLORADO:The Bears, 5-7 in dual competition this season, have won their last two outings - each of which coming over a Pac-12 opponent. UNC defeated Arizona State 24-15 (Jan. 18), and Cal Poly 19-17 (Jan. 26).

UTAH VALLEY:The Wolverines, 3-6 in 2013-14, fell at Arizona State 18-16 (Jan. 18), and will be wrestling for the first time in two weeks. UVU boasts a ranked wrestler at heavyweight, as junior Adam Fager is No. 13 according to InterMat.

IN THE RANKINGS:Boise State currently ranks 30th in the InterMat College Rankings (Jan. 28), and No. 33 in WIN's Tournament Power Index (Jan. 27).

Individually, at 184 pounds, Jake Swartz ranks seventh-nationally according to InterMat, No. 8 according to WIN Magazine and No. 6 according to Amateur Wrestling News; and at heavyweight, J.T. Felix ranks ninth-nationally according to both InterMat and WIN, and No. 10 according to AWN.
