Pink Out Scheduled for Friday

BOISE, Idaho – The Boise State wrestling team will host Northern Colorado Friday at Taco Bell Arena in the team’s inaugural Pink Out dual. The team will wear pink singlets and head gear for the first time in school history, raising awareness for cancer.

The Broncos and Bears are slated to hit the mat at 7 p.m.

Boise State (3-3, 1-0 Pac-12) is in the midst of a four-dual homestand, and split its first two home matches of the season. The Broncos knocked off North Dakota State (19-18), and fell to Wyoming (33-6).

Northern Colorado is 2-4 on the year, including an 0-3 mark in the Big 12. The Bears won their last dual, knocking off Cal Poly 22-19, Jan. 22.

A free live video stream of the dual will be available at BroncoSports.com, and live results will be available via TrackWrestling.

TICKETS
Normally $6 for adults and $4 for juniors (2-18) and seniors (62+), admission will be $3 for anyone wearing pink to Friday evening’s dual. Tickets can be purchased at Taco Bell Arena on the day of the dual.

Students gain free entrance with a valid Boise State Student Identification Card.

PREVIOUS MEETINGS
The Broncos and Bears have wrestled five times in the last decade, with each dual going to Boise State. Two of the victories came in Boise, a 27-10 defeat of the Bears Jan. 31, 2014, and a 30-6 win, Jan. 22, 2012.

Sophomore Geordan Martinez is the only Bronco in the national rankings this week, checking at No. 12 in Amateur Wrestling News, No. 17 in Flowrestling, No. 18 in The Open Mat and No. 19 in InterMat.

NEXT UP
Boise State will close its home schedule next weekend, hosting South Dakota State at noon in Bronco Gym, Sunday (Feb. 7).
