Broncos Host CSU Bakersfield Saturday

BOISE, Idaho – Coming off of a three-match road trek, the Boise State wrestling team will return home for the first time since Dec. 10 for their conference opener against CSU Bakersfield (3-2, 0-1 Pac-12), Saturday at Bronco Gym.

The dual will begin at noon (MT).

The Broncos (1-4, 0-0 Pac-12) are coming off of three-straight losses, but were victorious in their last home action, defeating Utah Valley, 32-14. Boise State’s last conference win was over Arizona State, Nov. 11, 2015.

Boise State head coach Mike Mendoza is in his first at the helm of the Broncos, following a 14-year run at his alma mater of CSU Bakersfield, including the last six as the head coach. The Roadrunners (3-2, 0-1) opened their conference slate with a 22-15 loss to Stanford, Jan. 8.

Boise State and CSU Bakersfield first met on the mat on Jan. 17, 1976, and the Broncos lead the all-time series 11-8.

Tickets

Tickets are $6 for adults and $4 for juniors (2-18) and seniors (62+), and can be purchased at Bronco Gym the day of the dual. Students gain free entry with a valid Boise State Student Identification Card.

The Broncos will hold Youth Day this Saturday, where all wrestlers ages 12-and-under will receive free admission to the dual. Additionally, following the dual, the team will sign autographs, and the 2016-17 poster will be available for every kid in attendance.

Saturday’s dual will also be Faculty Staff Appreciation Day. Boise State faculty and staff members will receive free admission to the dual.
