BOISE, Idaho – The Boise State wrestling team will host its first home duals of the 2015-16 season this week, squaring off against North Dakota State Friday (Jan. 15) at 7 p.m., and Wyoming Sunday (Jan. 17) at 1 p.m.

Each dual is scheduled to be held in Bronco Gym.

Boise State is 2-2 on the season, and hasn’t wrestled since the Reno Tournament of Champions, Dec. 20. Sophomore 149-pounder Geordan Martinez captured the individual title at the event, defeating the nation’s eighth-ranked individual in the finals.

The Broncos dropped their last dual at Utah Valley (22-12; Nov. 28), but were victorious in the previous bout, dropping Pac-12 foe Arizona State 22-21, Nov. 22.

North Dakota State is 0-3 on the year, having fallen at home to Virginia (23-13) and seventh-ranked Virginia Tech (23-13), and on the road to South Dakota State (24-15). The Bison boast a pair of ranked individuals, with Josh Rodriguez checking in at No. 16 at 125 pounds, and Hayden Zillmer checking in at No. 7 at 184 pounds.

Wyoming is 1-4 on the season, opening with a win over Air Force (22-16). The Cowboys have dropped each of their last four duals, through three of the losses came to ranked opponents. Drew Templeman (No. 15; 125), Bryce Meredith (No. 14; 141) and Tanner Harms (No. 18; 285) are all ranked for the Cowboys.

TICKETS
Tickets are $6 for adults and $4 for juniors (2-18) and seniors (62+), and can be purchased at Bronco Gym on the day of the dual. Students gain free entrance with a valid Boise State Student Identification Card.

Friday’s meeting against North Dakota State is Military Appreciation Day, and all veterans and active duty personnel will receive free admission. Miniature American flags will be distributed to the first 200 fans.

For Sunday’s match-up with Wyoming, youth ages 12-and-under will receive free admission as part of Youth Wrestling Day.

PREVIOUS MEETINGS
The Broncos have dropped the last three meetings with both North Dakota State and Wyoming. The last victory over the Bison came Jan. 20, 2012 (21-16) in Boise, while the last win over the Cowboys came Jan. 10, 2009 (24-15), at the NWCA/Cliff Keen National Duals in Cedar Falls, Iowa.

IN THE RANKINGS
Sophomore Geordan Martinez is the only Bronco in the national rankings entering this weekend. He ranks No. 13 in Amateur Wrestling News, No. 17 in both InterMat and Flowrestling, and No. 18 in The Open Mat.

NEXT UP
The Broncos’ homestand continues Jan. 29 (Friday) against Northern Colorado. The squads will meet at 7 p.m. in Taco Bell Arena.
