BOISE, Idaho Following an eighth place finish at last weekend’s (Dec. 29 and 30) Southern Scuffle in Greensboro, N.C., the Boise State University wrestling team is ranked 25th in this week’s USA Today/InterMat/NWCA coaches poll.

The Broncos received 88 points marking the first time this season they have been ranked in the top 25.  Boise State is the only team from the Pac-10 Conference to make this week’s rankings.

The University of Iowa, which will visit Taco Bell Arena for a match against Boise State on Feb. 10 (Sunday), continued to be ranked No. 1 with 480 points.  Iowa State University is second while defending NCAA National Champion and winner of this year’s Southern Scuffle University of Minnesota is ranked third.

Two individual Bronco wrestlers are also listed in this week’s rankings.
A freshman from Bonners Ferry, Idaho, Adam Hall is 12th in the 149-pound weight class with a 16-4 overall record.  He finished third at the Southern Scuffle.

Tyler Sherfey, a junior from Kennewick, Wash., is also ranked 12th with an overall record of 16-5 in the 157-pound weight class.  He also won the consolation bracket of the Southern Scuffle.

Boise State is taking this weekend off from competition before beginning a five-match conference road swing through California next week.  The trip begins at Cal State Fullerton on Jan. 11 (Friday).  It also includes matches against Cal State Bakersfield on Jan. 12 (Saturday), Cal Poly on Jan. 13 (Sunday), Stanford University on Jan. 18 (Friday) and UC Davis on Jan. 19 (Saturday). 
The next home match is Jan. 25 (Friday) against the University of Oregon.
