Lehigh Hands Boise State 35-6 Home Wrestling Loss

BOISE, Idaho – The Boise State wrestling team’s dual match record for the 2013-14 season dropped to 2-6 as Lehigh came into Bronco Gym on Sunday to post a 35-6 win over the Broncos.

The match started at 197 pounds with Lehigh unable to send a wrestler to the mat and Boise State’s Cody Dixon was awarded a default to give the Broncos a quick 6-0 team lead.

After that match is was all Lehigh with the visitors from Pennsylvania winning nine consecutive matches. 

The string of wins started with an upset at heavyweight as unranked Max Wessell posted a 7-4 decision over No. 6 ranked J.T. Felix

Lehigh gained the team lead (9-6) in the next match at 125 pound as the Mountain Hawk’s Darian Curz pinned Rami Hadadin at the 6:49 mark of the match. 

Following the 125-pound match, the Mountain Hawk’s never looked back as they recorded one technical fall, and two three major decisions, over the Broncos in the final seven matches.

Next up for the Broncos is a match this Friday (Jan. 31) against Northern Colorado.  The match starts at 7 p.m. and will be held in Taco Bell Arena.
