Broncos Fall in Road Tilt Against Bison

FARGO, N.D. - The Boise State wrestling team fell on the road at North Dakota State Sunday, dropping its dual with the Bison at Bentson Bunker Fieldhouse, 30-12.

After forfeiting the opening match of the dual - at 149 pounds - the Broncos won back-to-back decisions to tie things up. Steven Hernandez knocked off Steven Keogh at 157 (11-5), and Chris Castillo posted a 7-3 win over Kurtis Julson.

No. 9 Hayden Zillmer pinned Xavier Callejas at 184 pounds in the ensuing match (1:25), and the Bison held onto the lead for the remainder of the dual.

Cody Dixon earned a 9-4 decision at 197 pounds over Thomas Petersen, and Michael Cook earned a 4-2 decision over Hunter Weber at 133 pounds.

Boise State forfeited a second match at 125.

The Broncos will return home for the first time in more than a month Friday (Jan. 23), hosting Arizona State at 7 p.m. in Taco Bell Arena. The dual will be part of Beauty and the Beast with the Boise State gymnastics team.
