Redshirt season…went 29-10 while wrestling unattached at both 157 and 165 pounds…included were five major decisions, three technical falls and 18 pins…wrestled in eight tournaments, finishing runner-up at the Cowboy Open (Nov. 7), and finishing third at the Spokane Open (Nov. 22), the Battle of the Rockies (Dec. 5), the Menlo Invitational (Jan. 2), the UVU Open (Jan. 9) and the Clackamas Open (Jan. 24)…was 4-1 at the Cowboy Open (157), picking up a major decision and a pair of pins en route to the finals…was 5-1 at the Spokane Open (157), his only loss coming to teammate Demetrius Romero (7-3)…each of his five victories came via fall…was 4-1 at the Battle of the Rockies (165), picking up a pair of pins and a technical fall…went 0-2 at the Reno Tournament of Champions (157; Dec. 20)…went 5-1 at the Menlo Invitational (165), with three pins and a major decision…went 4-1 at the UVU Open (165), including three pins and a major decision…went 5-1 at the Clackamas Open (165), including two major decisions, a technical fall and two pins…went 2-2 at the California Collegiate Open (165; Feb. 7), including a pin and a technical fall.

A four-time state champion for head coach Jody Coleman at Orting High School...won the state title at 106 pounds in 2012, at 113 pounds in 2013, at 126 pounds in 2014 and at 138 pounds in 2015...named Most Outstanding Wrestler after winning Tri-state title at 138 pounds during his senior season, his second-straight title at the tournament...also finished runner-up at the tournament as a sophomore...named the Tacoma Athletic Commission/Key Bank Athlete of the Year both his sophomore and junior seasons...Orting's ASB President as a senior...earned four WIAA Academic Athletic Awards, and was a three-year member of the National Honor Society.
