Boise State's Roskilly Advances to PNW Intercollegiate Title Match

KIRKLAND, Wash. - Boise State freshman Lewis Roskilly has advanced to Sunday’s Flight 4 singles title match following a straight-set 6-3, 6-4 victory Saturday afternoon at the Pacific Northwest Intercollegiate at Kirkland, Wash. The Broncos went 1-3 in singles and 2-0 in doubles Saturday during the second day of the tournament.
   
Roskilly was the lone Bronco to record a singles victory on Saturday after three of the four had advanced to today’s semifinal round in their respective flights. The freshman from Stevenage, England, has gone 2-0 in singles at Kirkland this weekend and will face Hayden Smith from Gonzaga Sunday morning for the Flight 4 title.
    
In other singles matches on Saturday for Boise State, junior Brian Foley lost his semifinal 6-3, 6-2 to Washington’s Rishabh Raman. Toby Mitchell also fell in his semifinal contest in a tough three set affair 3-6, 6-2, 6-2 to Oregon’s Daan Maasland. 
   
In a consolation match, sophomore Abe Hewko fell in straight sets 6-2, 6-2 to Portland State’s Stuart Tierney. 
   
Both doubles teams won consolation contests on Saturday. Mitchell and Foley defeated Gonzaga’s duo of Nick Kamisar and Alvaro Nazal 8-5. Meanwhile, Hewko and Roskilly downed Eastern Washington’s Robert Dula and Rendell Burghart 8-2.
