Luke Shields Advances In ITA Indoor Championships

COLUMBUS, Ohio Two members of the Boise State University men’s tennis team competed in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association’s National Indoor Championships, hosted by Ohio State, Thursday and collected one victory.

 

Luke Shields, ranked 33 according to the ITA, defeated Ken Skupski (No. 12) of LSU in three sets 6-7, 6-3 and 6-4 to advance to the Round of 16.  Shields will now face Texas Tech’s Bojan Zsumanski at 12:30 p.m. (ET), Friday, Nov. 3.  Zsumanski knocked off Somdev Devvarman of Virginia who defeated Shields in the quarterfinals of the All-American tournament. 

 

Falling today was Luke’s brother Clancy, who lost to the nation’s number one ranked Ben Kohlloeffel of UCLA 6-2 and 6-3.
