Sears Competes at Larry Easley Memorial Classic

LAS VEGAS, Nev. - Boise State redshirt sophomore Scott Sears officially concluded the Boise State men's tennis team's fall schedule this weekend (Oct. 29-31) as he competed in singles competition at the Larry Easley Memorial Classic hosted by UNLV in Las Vegas, Nev.

Sears went 1-1 in singles play to drop from the tournament in quarterfinals action. He opened the weekend by beating Jordan Bridge of Cal Poly, 7-5, 6-4, to advance past the round of 16. Sears' run at capturing the singles title would come to a halt shortly thereafter, however, as he suffered a 2-6, 7-6, 6-4 loss to Nikolas Zogaj (Arkansas) in the quarterfinal round to end his run at the tournament.

Boise State is off the tennis court now until late January when the Broncos will kick-off the 2011 indoor season. The men will open the spring at the University of Oregon on Jan. 21 (Friday).
