BERKELEY, Calif. In the second day of the 2007 Chandler Cup men’s tennis tournament, Boise State’s Eric Roberson was the only Bronco to play in Saturday’s quarterfinal round.

After going 2-0 in the first two rounds of the Flight A ITA singles competition on Friday, Roberson fell 6-4, 6-2 to No. 8 seeded Patrick Fischer of the University of Washington Saturday afternoon.

Only three Broncos competed at the Chandler Cup, hosted by Cal Berkeley. Roberson was joined by BSU’s Piotr Dilaj and Stanley Sarapanich at the tournament, but the two others fell in Friday’s rounds. The BSU doubles team also competed on Friday, failing to advance to Saturday’s rounds.

The Broncos await their final tournament of the season; those who qualify will compete at the NCAA Individual Indoor Championships from Nov. 1-4 in Columbus, Ohio.
