LAS VEGAS, Nev. – Boise State’s doubles team of Garrett Patton and Brendan McClain battled hard on Saturday but came up short in the USTA/ITA Mountain Regional semifinals in Las Vegas. The Bronco tandem lost a heartbreaker in a 10-point tie-break to New Mexico’s James Hignett and Bart Van Leijsen. Patton and McClain had a chance to win it in the second set but could not convert on their opportunities as they were eliminated from the tournament after a great run to the semifinals.

The loss by Patton and McClain ends Boise State’s run at the regional for the 2014 year. The Broncos will be back in action on Halloween weekend when they return to Las Vegas for the UNLV Fall Classic (Oct. 30-Nov. 1).
