SANTA CLARA, Calif. Three members of the Boise State University men’s tennis team earned victories Friday at the Bronco Classic hosted by Santa Clara University

 

After receiving a bye in the opening round of the flight A portion of the tournament, Eric Roberson triumphed over Thong Tu of San Francisco to advance to the Round of 16 by the score of 6-4, 1-6 and 6-3.

 

Piotr Dilaj will join Roberson in the flight A’s Round of 16 after a bye and the defeat of Sacramento State’s Xavier Smith, 6-2 and 6-3.

 

Jamaal Hepburn collected the final victory of the day for the Broncos by ousting Washington’s Holden Ching in straight sets 6-4 and 6-1. In the following round of the flight B singles, Hepburn lost to Petr Sitnikov of Fresno Pacific by the score of 6-3 and 6-1.

 

The Bronco Classic will continue Saturday when Roberson takes on California’s John Petit and Dilaj matches up with Eoin Heavey who also attends Cal.
