Sept. 30, 2014

TULSA, Wash. - Boise State’s participation in the 2014 Saint Francis Health System ITA Men’s All-American Championships came to an end on Tuesday when both doubles teams of Thomas Tenreiro/Toby Mitchell and Garrett Patton/Brendan McClain suffered losses and were eliminated.

Tenreiro and Mitchell were the first to compete on Tuesday taking on Oliver Pramming and Justin Roberts from South Florida. The Broncos opened by winning the first set in a tiebreak, then lost the second set to the Bulls team. That forced the contest into a 10-point match tiebreak where they lost 10-5. The final match score for Tenreiro and Mitchell was 6-7 (3), 6-3, 1-0 (5).

The tandem of Patton and McClain faced TCU’s duo of Trey Daniel and Trevor Johnson in the opening round. The Bronco pair struggled on Tuesday suffering a straight set defeat 6-2, 6-2.

The two losses ended Boise State’s run at the ITA All-American for 2014. The Broncos will return to Boise on Wednesday and prepare for the Dar Walters Tennis Classic which is being hosted by Boise State this weekend.
