SKILLMAN, N.J.-The Intercollegiate Tennis Association released its preseason rankings Friday, littered with members of the Boise State men's tennis team. Senior Damian Hume checks in at No. 63 to lead a trio of Broncos in the national singles rankings.
Redshirt junior James Meredith was tabbed No. 109 for 2011-12. Meredith began the 2010-11 season ranked No. 40, before redshirting in the spring.
Sophomore Andrew Bettles was ranked No. 124 on the ITA singles list.
Hume and Meredith combine to form the 51st-ranked doubles tandem in the country.
Hume, Meredith Selected for All-American Championships
Hume and James will represent Boise State at the ITA All-American Championships, October 1-6, in Tulsa, Okla. Both Broncos earned a spot in the qualifying draw.
The top 16 singles from the qualifying draw will join 48 student-athletes already selected for the main draw later in the week. Meredith competed in the main draw at the 2010 championships, winning his first-round match before dropping a thriller in the round of 32 to the No. 13 player in the country, 6-4, 7-6 (10-8).
Hume competed in the qualifying draw last season. The duo will also compete in the qualifying doubles tournament for the second-consecutive year.
