Luke Shields Selected For USTA Summer Team

BOISE, Idaho Boise State University men’s tennis player Luke Shields has been named to the 2007 USTA Summer Collegiate Team.

The USTA Summer Collegiate Team was formed in 1996 by the USTA as an elite training program for the top six male and female tennis players in the country. The program was designed to provide players with valuable exposure to the USTA Pro Circuit in a team-oriented environment during the summer months. This year the team will be playing in the USTA Pro Circuit events primarily during July. 

All 12 members of the team earned ITA All-American honors for the 2006-07 season while representing their respective university.

The men's team members are;

Travis Helgeson, Georgia (Jr., Overland Park, Kan.)
Bryan Koniecko, Ohio State (Soph., Long Island, N.Y.)
Jesse Levine, Florida (Fr., Boca Raton, Fla.)
Todd Paul, Wake Forest (Sr., Stamford, Conn.)
Luke Shields, Boise State (Jr., Grand Junction, Colo.)

The women’s team members are;
Megan Falcon, LSU (Soph., Alameda, Calif.)
Natalie Frazier, Georgia (Sr., Riverdale, Ga.)
Theresa Logar, Stanford (Sr., Rochester Hills, Mich.)
Jenna Long, North Carolina (Sr., Fremont, Calif.)
Kristi Miller, Georgia Tech (Jr., Marysville, Mich.)
Lindsey Nelson, Southern California (Jr., Villa Park, Calif.)

The men’s team will be coached by LSU men’s assistant coach Mark Booras while Troy Porco of Virginia will coach the women’s team.
