BOISE, Idaho - A trip to the NCAA tournament was enough to keep the Boise State men's tennis team deadlocked in the ITA national team rankings, as the Broncos remained at No. 42 in the final rankings of the season which were released on Monday (June 7).
The Broncos, who fell in the first round of the NCAA tournament with a 4-0 loss to No. 29 Florida State, did not move from No. 42 in the last two rankings of the season. Boise State finished the year with a 19-12 overall record, which kept the Broncos ranked in the top-75 all season long.
Boise State was also represented once again in the singles rankings as sophomore James Meredith finished the year at No. 61 overall. Meredith was 25-10 in singles this season with a 20-7 record in dual competition.
The Broncos also learned last week that they will be competing in the 2011 ITA Kick-Off event, which features 60 of the top programs in the country. Boise State will travel to the University of Kentucky to square off against Kentucky, Wake Forest and Wisconsin. The winners of each of the 15 regions will advance to compete in the 2011 ITA National Indoor Championships. Boise State's complete men's tennis schedule has not been released yet.
