Feeder and Meredith Fall in NCAA Round of 16 Doubles, Complete Season with a 22-9 Record

COLLEGE STATION, Texas The 2009 Boise State men’s tennis season came to an end on Friday afternoon, completing a very successful season by the Broncos. Doubles team Kean Feeder and James Meredith were the final Broncos remaining in competition on Friday, but had tough competition in the NCAA Division I Men’s Doubles Round of 16 facing second-ranked Davey Sandgren and John-Patrick Smith of Tennessee.

 

The pair of Volunteers were too much for the 43rd-ranked Bronco duo, picking up a 6-3, 7-5 to advance to the quarterfinal round at the George P. Mitchell Tennis Center.

 

Feeder and Meredith complete their season with a 22-9 record while Sandgren and Smith continue with their 20-7 record.

 

The loss marks the end of the season for the Boise State tennis team which finished the season ranked No. 20 in the nation and advanced its team to the NCAA Round of 16, qualified senior Clancy Shields to the Round of 64 in singles play as well as advancing Feeder and Meredith to the Round of 16 this week.

 

The tournament will continue through May 25 and includes the final rounds of the singles and doubles draws for both the men and women.
