Feeder and Meredith Pull Out Upset Win, Advance to NCAA Doubles Round of 16

COLLEGE STATION, Texas The Boise State doubles pair of Kean Feeder and James Meredith pulled out their second upset win of the season over Alabama’s Daniel Buikema and Mathieu Thibaudeau on Thursday, knocking out the 23rd-ranked team in the NCAA Division I Men’s Tennis Doubles Round of 32. The 43rd-ranked Broncos earned a 6-7, 6-2, 6-4 win on this afternoon at the George P. Mitchell Tennis Complex on the campus of Texas A&M University, advancing to the Round of 16 slated for Friday.


The Bronco duo defeated the Crimson Tide pair one other time this season, earning a 9-8 win in the No. 1 doubles match in which Boise State ended up defeating Alabama to advance to the NCAA Team Round of 16 on May 9.


Feeder and Meredith have improved to a 22-8 record this season while Buikema and Thibaudeau finish their season with a 16-11 record.


In the Round of 16, Feeder and Meredith will face second-ranked Davey Sandgren and John-Patrick Smith of Tennessee on Friday, May 22. The pair of Volunteers hold a 19-7 record in doubles play this season. The start time for Friday’s match has yet to be announced.
