COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Boise State's Nathan Sereke has been selected as the Mountain West Men's Tennis Player of the Week, the conference announced Wednesday.

Sereke, from Stockholm, Sweden, went a combined 4-0 in singles and doubles action at the 2012 MW Men's Tennis Championship to propel the 38th-ranked Broncos to their first Mountain West tournament title. In singles action, Sereke began his week in San Diego, Calif., by downing TCU's Daniel Sanchez in straight sets (6-3, 6-2) at No. 4 singles as Boise State notched a 4-0 win over the Horned Frogs. The following day, the sophomore standout netted a 6-0, 6-4 win over New Mexico's Conor Berg at the fourth singles spot, helping the Broncos earn the league's automatic bid to the 2012 NCAA Championships with a 4-0 victory over the Lobos. Positioned at the top of the doubles lineup, Sereke and partner James Meredith went 2-0 at the Conference tournament, notching back-to-back wins over the TCU tandem of Sanchez/Max Stevens (8-3) and the 58th-ranked New Mexico pair of Phillip Anderson/Jadon Phillips (8-4) last Saturday and Sunday, respectively.

This marks the second Player of the Week honor of the season for Sereke who previously earned the award April 4.

In total, four Boise State players were tapped five times for the award this season. Andy Bettles, Damian Hume and James Meredith were the others to join Sereke.
