Bronco Men's Tennis Heads to Los Angeles for NCAA First and Second Rounds

BOISE, Idaho The No. 36-ranked Boise State men’s tennis team has earned its fourth-straight trip to the NCAA First and Second rounds. The Broncos (21-11) will head west to Los Angeles, Calif. where No. 6-ranked University of Southern California will play host to the May 9-11 first and second rounds.

The Broncos, who have qualified for NCAA post-season play for the 13th time in school history, enter the region with a No. 3 seed. USC holds the top seed while the University of California holds the No. 2 seed and Southern University holds the region’s No. 4 seed.

Playing host and holding the top seed in the region, the Trojans enter the matches with a 19-4 record after placing second in the Pac-10 Conference championships last week.

The Golden Bears of Cal enter the first rounds of the tournament with a 12-10 record after placing fourth in the Pac-10 Championships.

Traveling all the way from Baton Rouge, La. the Jaguars of Southern enter with a 10-11 record. The Jaguars were the only team of the four to earn an automatic bid to the championships by winning their Southwestern Conference Championships.

The Broncos have already faced USC once during the regular season, falling to the Trojans 5-2 on February 9 in Los Angeles.

The Boise State men’s team will take on Cal in the first round of the tournament on Friday, May 9 while Southern and USC will face off on the other half of the bracket. Start times for the matches will be released when they become available.
