BOISE, Idaho - The No. 23 Boise State University men’s tennis team extended its winning streak to 10 matches as it defeated Eastern Washington 6-1, Saturday, at the Appleton Tennis Center.
The Broncos earned points in doubles and No. 1 through No. 5 singles for the victory.
The No. 56 nationally ranked doubles team of Piotr Dilaj and Luke Shields defeated Jonathan Davis and Patrick Millican at No. 1 doubles 8-1, to earn their 15th victory of the season.
Blake Boswell and Eric Roberson improved to 6-1 at No. 2 doubles as they vanquished Pannhara Mam and Kyle Schraeder 8-4. The victory was the duo’s team-leading 20th this season and 17th of dual match play.
Stanley Sarapanich and Steve Roberson gave Boise State the sweep of the doubles point as they knocked off Keithan Gregg and Kevin Erickson 8-4.
Robertson collected the first singles point for the Broncos as he made short work of Daniel Pez at the No. 3 position defeating him in straight sets 6-1 and 6-1.
Kean Feeder put Boise State up 3-0 as he won his first career match downing Mam in straight sets at the No. 1 position 6-2 and 6-3.
Sarapanich earned the clinching match point at No. 5 singles as he defeated Millican 6-3 and 7-6, to improve to a perfect 4-0 at the No. 5 spot.
Roberson used a super tiebreaker to knocked off Gregg at No. 4 singles 4-6, 6-3 and 10-4 as he earned his 21st victory of the season.
Dilaj turned the final match point of the afternoon as he emerged victorious over Schraeder 6-2, 5-7 and 7-5.
The lone defeat of the day came at No. 6 singles where Jamall Hepburn lost his first match of the dual season to Art Karas 6-1, 2-6, 7-6 (4).
With the victory Boise State improved it record to 26-5 this season and extended its home winning streak to 30 straight.
