STANFORD, Calif.- The No. 52-ranked Boise State men's tennis team traveled to take on No. 8-ranked Stanford on Thursday (April 14) afternoon. The Broncos lost to the Cardinal 6-1 at the Taube Family Tennis Stadium falling to 13-11 (1-1 WAC) on the season while Stanford improved to 15-5 (4-1 Pac-10).

The Cardinal got off to a 1-0 lead after earning the doubles point with wins at the Nos. 1 and 2 spots.

The Broncos earned the No. 3 doubles win as well as a win at the No. 5 single spots for their only victories of the day. Boise State's Nathan Sereke outlasted Greg Hirshman 3-6, 6-4, 1-0 (8).

Stanford picked up a win at No. 1 first with Bradley Klan defeating Damian Hume, 6-1, 6-0. Alex Clayton followed suit in the No. 3 match, defeating Boise State's Andrew Bettles, 6-1, 6-2. Stanford's Ryan Thacher sealed the team win with a 6-3, 6-1 win over Filipp Pogostkin in the No. 3 singles spot.

In the No. 6 match Freddy Walsh fell to Jamin Ball, 6-2, 6-1, followed by Sereke's win at No. 5. The day was wrapped up with Denis Lin defeating Scott Sears in a barnburner 6-7 (4), 6-4, 1-0 (7) No. 4 match.

The Broncos continue on the road, taking on WAC rival Fresno State on Saturday, April 16 at 2 p.m. in Fresno, Calif.
