The No. 39-ranked Boise State men’s tennis team will host two home matches this weekend at the Appleton Tennis Center. The first will come at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, March 28 against No. 73-ranked Brown University. The second of their two matches will come on Sunday, March 30 at 12 noon against No. 43-ranked University of Denver.
ABOUT THE BRONCOS:
The Broncos fell four spots to the No. 39 ITA ranking. Singles player Clancy Shields dropped last week from No. 55 last week to No. 60, while brother Luke Shields dropped from No. 59 to No. 79 in the singles ITA rankings. The brotherly duo joins to hold the No. 13 spot in doubles rankings.
BRONCOS’ LAST TIME OUT:
The Broncos enter this weekend after sweeping the University of Utah 7-0 in Salt Lake City, Utah on Tuesday afternoon. Boise State also comes off a 3-0 record at the Boise State Spring Break Invitational held last week at the Appleton Tennis Center. There they defeated Georgia State, Yale and No. 65 Wichita State all with 4-0 scores.
ABOUT BROWN UNIVERSITY:
Brown enters this week’s competitions with a No. 73 ranking in the ITA rankings. They hold a 9-10 record after falling 6-1 to No. 30 Stanford on Monday in Palo Alto, California.
ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY OF DENVER:
Denver holds a No. 43 ranking coming into this weekend’s matches. The Pioneers hold a 12-3 record on the season and are entering the weekend after a 5-2 win over Central Florida last weekend.
