WHAT’S HAPPENING:

The No. 23-ranked Boise State men’s tennis team will host their annual Boise State Red Lion Spring Break Invitational March 27-28. The tournament includes Idaho State, Ball State, Memphis, South Alabama, Fresno Pacific, Sacramento State and No. 44-ranked Nebraska. The tournament will be played at the Boise State Appleton Tennis Center, Boas Tennis Center, Julia Davis Park and Boise Racquet and Swim Club.

Tickets: Admission to all matches is free.

LAST TIME OUT:

The Broncos return home after falling in the semifinal round to Alabama at the prestigious Blue Gray Classic in Montgomery, Ala., last weekend. The Broncos finished with a 2-1 record, defeating Notre Dame and Oklahoma before falling to the Crimson Tide. Kean Feeder earned WAC Player of the Week honors after his excellent play in the tournament.

 

BOISE STATE:

Boise State enters the weekend as the No. 23-ranked team in the country. They hold an 11-7 overall record while also holding a 6-5 record in home matches. They improved to 8-6 against nationally ranked team last weekend and have the potential to play one additional ranked team this weekend with No. 44-ranked Nebraska joining the Broncos as the only ranked teams in this weekend’s tournament.

 

Updated ITA singles and doubles rankings were release on Mar. 17 with three Broncos remaining in the singles ranks and one doubles team also in the rankings. Senior Clancy Shields holds the No. 38 spot in singles rankings in the country. Senior Kean Feeder holds the No. 78 spot in the rankings, while freshman James Meredith sits at the No. 80 rank in the country. In doubles rankings, Feeder and Meredith hold the No. 68-ranking this week.
