DENVER Boise State University men's tennis player Steve Robertson has been named the Western Athletic Conference Men’s Tennis Player of the Week for the week of Mar. 5-Mar. 11. This is the first honor for the sophomore this spring.
Steve Robertson, a sophomore from Tualatin, Ore., collected three victories over a two-day period to help Boise State go 3-0. Robertson bounced throughout the Boise State lineup and found success wherever he played. Against Pacific he played No. 3 as he ousted Alan Kelly 6-2 and 6-2. The following match against Idaho Robertson dropped John Hieb 6-1 and 6-1 at the No. 2 position. Finally, Robertson played No. 5 and dominated Kamil Pajkowski of New Mexico as Boise State defeated the No. 58 Lobos, 4-3. With the victories Robertson extended his team-high winning streak to seven matches and improved to 10-1 in dual match play.
