Men's Tennis Looks to Build on Home Wins
BOISE, Idaho - After collecting themselves with two wins at home last weekend, the Boise State men's tennis team (5-7, 1-1 MW) will hit the road once again to take on San Francisco, Saturday and No. 49 Stanford, Sunday. Both matches will start at 1 p.m. PT.

In the Rankings - Junior Andy Bettles is currently ranked the 30th-best singles player in the nation after a 7-3 fall season and a 8-4 record so far this spring. Bettles has played all 12 matches in this spring at the No. 1 spot, eight of which were against ranked opponents.
Scouting San Francisco - The Dons are 5-2 this season and currently ride a four-match win streak heading into the weekend. The Cal Club has been a tough place for opponents to win this year as San Francisco is 4-0 at home. While no players are ranked, Thai Tu leads the team with a 5-1 record at the No. 1 position.
Scouting No. 49 Stanford - The Cardinal is 4-5 this spring and has already faced seven teams in the top 70 of the ITA rankings. Stanford has proven to be a better home team where they have a 4-2 record at the Taube Family Tennis Stadium as opposed to an 0-3 record on the road. John Morrissey is one of two Cardinal in the singles rankings, sitting at No. 45 and serving as the top player on the team. Nolan page is ranked 91st and has primarily played at the No. 3 position.
Loving the Golden State - This marks the third trip to California this season for the Broncos who played in Berkely, Calif. Jan. 25-26 and San Diego Feb. 22-23. One more trip is in store as the team will face Fresno State in Fresno, Calif., April 14.
Double the Fun - Boise State has swept the doubles point five times this spring while winning the point in 8-of-12 matches. The No. 2 doubles position has accumulated a 10-1 record thanks largely to Garrett Patton and Scott Sears who are 8-1 there.
Bettles Named Player of the Week - Junior Andy Bettles was named Mountain West Men's Tennis Player of the Week, Feb. 13, after going a combined 3-1 on the against Minnesota and Louisville. Bettles defeated two ranked opponents in singles while pairing with Nathan Sereke to upset the 24th-ranked doubles team of Froment/Bonin.
Early Schedule - Boise State faces a grueling stretch in the early going of the 2013 season. The Broncos have already faced No. 14 Cal, No. 35 Santa Clara twice and No. 23 Washington, No. 44 Minnesota and No. 35 Louisville. In total the Broncos will have faced eight ranked opponents in a row, all on the road.
No Place Like Home - Boise State owns a 23-match home win streak after going a perfect 19-0 at home last season. The last Bronco loss in Boise came during the WAC Championships in 2011 in a 4-3 defeat against Fresno State.
About the Broncos - Boise State enters the season as defending Mountain West Champions, going a perfect 7-0 against conference opponents in 2012. This year's team is led by a pair of juniors, Andy Bettles and Nathan Sereke who will man the top two spots for Boise State while seniors Filipp Pogostkin and Scott Sears will give the Broncos strength in the middle of the lineup. Three new faces to the roster will fight to fill out the order as Patton welcomes freshmen Brian Foley, Toby Mitchell and Thomas Tenreiro to the squad.
