Broncos to Face No. 26 Washington

BOISE, Idaho – The No. 50 Boise State men’s tennis team (3-1) will host No. 26 Washington Huskies at the Boise Racquet and Swim Club, Saturday at 5:30 p.m. The Broncos, in conjunction with the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, will also host a Kid’s Day Tennis Clinic free of charge before and after the match.

Kid’s Day Tennis Clinic – Children 11-years-old and younger are invited to come to the Racquet and Swim Club at 4 p.m. for activities before the match, while after the match, kids ages 12-years-old and up are welcome to take part in a clinic and games. Other activities, including games for spectators, will be held between the doubles and singles matches at approximately 6:45 p.m. Racquets will be provided for all participants.

National Rankings – Boise State men’s tennis was ranked 48th in the first Campbell/ITA College Tennis Rankings of 2012. Damian Hume and James Meredith received national rankings individually. Hume checks in at No. 25 on the heels of a successful fall season that included the Mountain Region singles title and a run to the National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships.

Meredith is ranked 31st, nationally. His fall season included two wins at the ITA All-American Championships. What Happened

Last Time – Boise State is coming off a weekend split at the ITA Kickoff in Stanford, Calif. The Broncos lost to No. 50 Santa Clara, 5-2 on Friday before taking down No. 64 Saint Mary's, 7-0 on Saturday.

Looking at the Huskies – Washington is 4-1 this spring season with each of its wins coming in sweeps while the team’s lone loss came last weekend against No. 10 Duke (4-0). The Huskies are led by junior Kyle McMorrow who is ranked 15th in the nation at singles.

Next Home Match – The Broncos will have a more home matches next weekend when they host Montana State and Idaho State, Friday Feb. 10 and rival Idaho, Saturday, Feb. 11.
