WHAT’S HAPPENING

  • Boise State men’s tennis is sending two of its team, Greg Wischer and Harve Shackleton, to participate in the prestigious National Collegiate Tennis Classic at Rancho Mirage, Calif., (near Palm Springs) this weekend. The NCTC is in its 42nd year and features some of the top collegiate talent from across the United States who will compete in a singles tournament and a doubles tournament. There is no team competition for this event.
  • The NCTC begins the afternoon of Friday, Jan. 13, and runs through Sunday, Jan. 15, at the Sunrise Country Club in Rancho Mirage. 


REPRESENTING BOISE STATE

  • The Broncos sent two of there younger players to this competition in sophomore Greg Wischer and freshman Harvey Shackleton
  • Wischer (Grand Forks, N.D.) went 3-8 in singles during the fall semester and 3-6 in doubles competition.
  • Shackleton (Hertfordshire, England) finished the fall season with a 2-5 singles mark and 2-4 doubles record. 


NEXT UP FOR BOISE STATE

  • The 2017 team dual season officially gets underway next week when the Broncos host three home matches at the new Eagle Tennis Club off of State Street. 
  • The action begins with a doubleheader on Saturday, Jan. 21, when Boise State hosts Whitman College at 10 a.m., followed by a 6 p.m. encounter with Denver in a ITA Mountain Region match. 
  • The first weekend concludes when the Broncos host the Cal Poly Mustangs at 10 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 23. Boise State alumnus Garrett Patton is an assistant coach for Cal Poly as he returns to Boise for his first-ever match-up as a coach against his father Boise State head coach Greg Patton.
