Boise State Men's Tennis Opens Season Ranked No. 22

BOISE, Idaho - The Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced the first Campbell/ITA National Team Rankings of the year, Tuesday (Jan. 5), which included the Boise State men's tennis team being voted in at No. 22 to start the season.

            The Broncos receive the No. 22 ranking following a Sweet 16 appearance in last season's NCAA Team Championships. Boise State finished 2008-09 with a 24-9 overall record. The University of Southern California topped this week's men's team rankings.

            Boise State also received individual recognition in the first national rankings of the year as James Meredith was voted the No. 35 singles player in the country. Meredith, a sophomore from Christchurch, New Zealand (Christchurch Boys HS), finished the fall with a 5-2 record in singles.

            Boise State opens its' team schedule on Jan. 21 (Thursday) when the Broncos host the University of Oregon at 6 p.m. at the Boise Racquet Club.
