Stone and Wischer Win at Gopher Invite

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - Morgan Stone and Greg Wischer won their match versus Notre Dame’s Drew Dawson and Conor Somers 2-1. They opened by winning the doubles match 7-5 against the Fightin’ Irish duo. They then swept both singles matches with Stone winning by a walkover due to injury, while Wischer fell to Somers in a pro-set tiebreaker 5-7, 6-4, 1-0 (10-3).

Ryland McDermott and Harvey Shackleton took on Minnesota’s Matt Gamble and Alex Lebedev falling 3-0. They lost 7-5 in the doubles contest. Shackleton then lost a relatively tight singles match against Lebedev 6-4, 6-4, while McDermott was forced to withdraw because of injury trailing 4-0 in the first set.

This concludes the fall season for the Broncos. The team season begins Jan. 13 with the National Collegiate Tennis Challenge at Palm Springs, Calif.
